About the Theme
What does it mean to persist when the odds are stacked against you?
As a Metro State student, you might be balancing work, parenting, or financial stress. You could be coming back to school after years away, determined to finish what you started. Perhaps you had to push through systems that weren’t built for you. You could be managing mental health, caring for elders, living with a disability, or staying connected while far from home. You’re figuring out who you are. You’re showing up, even when no one’s cheering you on.
In a time when higher education feels harder than ever to access and complete, what does your journey say about resilience? What message does your persistence send to your community, your family, or even your younger self? What does it mean that you’re still here?
