early march walk, a series of haiku
Matthew Spillum

Transcendent trickle
Leaving wistful white matrix
Rivers are born thus.

Sleek silver steel
Graying with salt rime, road dirt
Prays for hard showers.

Outlines of boot tread
Spattered with new-bitten mud
Disturbs as always.

Moonlight fractured high
Slashed in razor shards of ice
Silver rings the sky.
